Vastus medialis

The Vastus Medialis is one of the four muscles that make up the quadriceps muscle group, situated in the anterior (front) thigh. It plays a crucial role in extending the knee and is vital for various lower limb movements.

Originating from the intertrochanteric line, the linea aspera (ridge on the femur), and the medial supracondylar line of the femur, the Vastus Medialis travels along the inner side of the thigh and converges with the other quadriceps muscles to insert into the patellar tendon.
